Avestar Credit Union is located in Waterloo, Wisconsin, in an area with a large number of permanent Hispanic residents and seasonal migrant workers. Accessing much-needed financial services is a challenge for those who don’t speak English. Avestar saw the opportunity to serve these individuals. Providing bilingual staff allows the credit union to build trust and form relationships with Spanish-speaking members.

I visited Avestar with CUNA News Editor Jennifer Plager and Digital Media Designer Yeekeng Yang. We interviewed staff to learn about the roles they play to serve Spanish-speaking members, and heard a testimonial from one of their satisfied members. I filmed, produced, and edited this video segment.
